Pilot-operated back pressure control valve XLC 420 (RP 116)
Preventing pressure peaks

Practical protection of pumps from cavitation

Groundwater of drinking water quality is fed into the regional municipal supply network by many suppliers directly after treatment. However, fluctuating consumption volumes can quickly induce pressure peaks and pressure fluctuations in the pipeline network.

XLC 320/420 (RP 116)

To prevent damage to the pumps, Mankenberg have developed a valve solution specifically designed for this purpose.

TASK // Cushioning pressure peaks up to 7 bar

By the installation of a back pressure regulator directly downstream of the pump, local pressure peaks or pressure fluctuations can be reliably prevented. This principle is simple and efficient. If the set pressure is exceeded, some drinking water is led back to the vessel upstream of the pump until the set pressure has been reached again.

SOLUTION // Pilot-operated back pressure control valve XLC 420 (RP 116)

The pilot-operated control valve XLC 420 (RP 116) DN 150 has been designed for high flow rates with a simultaneously precise control accuracy. This back pressure regulator is fabricated with an epoxy-coated body and fulfills all the guidelines and requirements of UBA and DVGW worksheet W270. Its technical features convincingly protect from cavitation in the supply network at an excellent price-performance ratio.
