Food and beverage

The highest standards of food and beverage

In the industrial production of food and drinks, most of the processing operations employ water, oil or steam as energy carriers. Here the cooking, drying or cooling take place in closed systems. All of these processes are governed by a range of extremely stringent quality and hygiene regulations.

A suitable Mankenberg valve is available for each of these production facilities. The demands placed on such plants are just as different as the products themselves to be processed.

International aseptic standards apply, extreme temperatures occur and highly viscous or heavily corrosive media must be handled.

The challenge for self-acting control valves is to optimize the production processes and all cleaning procedures simultaneously. Their resistance to acids, brines and temperatures as well as tightness and easy maintenance should at all times be ensure.

We manufacture all of our valves for the food and beverage industry from high-quality stainless steel 1.4404 / 316L to meet these high demands.

Laws and guidelines for food and beaverage

  • USP Class VI
  • 3-A Sanitary
  • FDA
  • EHEDG
  • ADI
  • ASME BPE
  • Hygienic classes in acc. with surface quality

What is particularly important?

As a producer of self-actuated pressure and level control valves, Mankenberg manufacture valves for production facilities all over the world. It goes without saying that all the internationally relevant approval regulations such as DIN 11866 or ASME BPE are fully complied with.

When it comes to plant planning or optimization with Mankenberg components, our high level of vertical integration of nearly 100 % shows its particular strength. The full range of elastomers, aseptic connections and flanges, sockets, screwings and welding ends, that are compliant with FDA and USP class VI, is available. It ensures the maximum number of customization options.

Mankenberg safeguard hygiene, efficiency and safety, as this is the key point here.

We handle nearly any requirement

All the components completely made of stainless steel

Minimal surface roughnesses (up to Ra ≤ 0.25 μm) as well as the pocket- and gap-free design of the Mankenberg valves are world renowned. With them, the technical requirements for plant engineering can be met up to their limits.

For all common liquids, gases and vapours

Mankenberg valves are just as suitable for acids, brine and water as for gases, for ex. N2 or CO2, as well as for all kinds of steam such as saturated steam, clean or pure steam up to 190 °C.

All kinds of connections such as dairy pipe unions, DIN / ANSI / or aseptic flanges, welding ends, clamp unions / TRI-CLAMPS as per DIN 32676 or ASME BPE can be individually combined with each other and implemented in an economically reasonable manner.
