Axel Weidner - Management and Commitment in a medium-sized Company

 

Mankenberg GmbH is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2010. The firm has been located in Lübeck for 65 years now. Since the year 2000 the company is being run by Mr Axel Weidner, born in 1956, who is the great-grandson of the company founder Gustav Mankenberg.

 

Axel Weidner grew up in Lübeck as a son of Mr Dr.-Ing. Günther Weidner and Mrs Dipl.-Ing. Ursula Weidner (whose maiden name was Mankenberg). After graduating high school Axel Weidner studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin.

 

1984 - 1990 Associate of Berlin-based Südwind Windkraftanlagen GmbH, which was among the first German manufacturers of wind power stations. Managing Director from 1988.

Thanks to his sense of responsibility felt on the personal and entrepreneurial side Mr Axel Weidner puts strong emphasis on additional commitment which enables Mankenberg to mesh more closely with economy and science in and outside Lübeck.

since 2007 Member of the Supervisory Board of Baltik AG (Lübeck), a Capital Investment Company whose shareholder base is solely composed by businessmen
